Fethiye to Kaş is roughly 100 kilometres
The road distance between central Fethiye and Kaş is about 100 kilometres, and in normal traffic the drive usually takes 1.5–2 hours. Most of the route follows the D400 coastal highway, threading through a mountainous, winding stretch that runs parallel to the sea. So while the distance looks short on a map, the drive is calmer and more careful than a flat motorway run.
Which way does the route go?
Heading east out of Fethiye you pass the turn for Ölüdeniz, then Kalkan, and finally Kaş. Kalkan sits about 70–75 kilometres from Fethiye and is the most practical place to break the journey; from there it is only another 25–30 kilometres to Kaş. In the summer months, when tourist traffic builds up on the narrow coastal sections, the drive can stretch by close to half an hour.
If you are coming from Antalya Airport
Most holidaymakers fly into Antalya first and then continue to Kaş. The distance from Antalya Airport to Kaş is about 185 kilometres, and this mix of mountain and coast road generally takes 2.5–3 hours. If you want a planned, low-hassle arrival straight from the airport, a door-to-door private transfer is the option with the fewest changes.
Which type of travel suits you?
- Private transfer: the driver meets you at the terminal exit holding a name sign, the fare is confirmed when you book and does not change en route, and your flight is tracked if it is delayed.
- Bus / minibus: economical, but it runs with connections and you still have to cover the final stretch to your hotel yourself — awkward for families with luggage.
- Taxi: runs on a meter with an opening charge plus a per-kilometre rate, the night tariff is higher, and the total is not clear until the trip ends.
