The distance between Antalya and Pamukkale is roughly 235–250 km. By chauffeured car or private transfer the route is usually covered in about 3 to 3.5 hours. With its UNESCO World Heritage white travertines and the ancient ruins of Hierapolis, Pamukkale is one of the most visited natural and historical sites in Turkey.
Route options
- D-350 / Burdur–Denizli (recommended): Heading north from Antalya and reaching Denizli and Pamukkale via Burdur is the most direct route, with a total time of about 3 to 3.5 hours. Some sections are mountainous, but overall it is a comfortable drive.
- Muğla–Denizli (alternative): If you are coming from the Kemer or Kaş side, this route can be used, though the distance is a little longer.
Transport options
- Chauffeured car: Provides uninterrupted, door-to-door travel from your starting point in Antalya right to the entrance of the Pamukkale terraces. For a day trip the car follows your schedule throughout the day and handles the return journey too. The price is confirmed when you book.
- Bus: The Antalya–Denizli bus journey takes about 4 to 5 hours. After reaching Denizli you still have to find a dolmuş or another vehicle on to Pamukkale, which costs extra time.
- Taxi: For this long distance a taxi runs on the meter; because of the opening charge and the per-kilometre rate, the amount is not clear until the trip ends.
Travel tips
- Because the route is mountainous, check road conditions in advance during the winter months.
- Bring suitable shoes and a change of clothes for the Pamukkale pools.
- Allow at least 3 to 4 hours for the visit.
With Duru VIP Transfer you can make a booking for a chauffeured car from central Antalya or the airport to Pamukkale.
