How Many Airports Are There in Antalya?
Antalya province has a single civil airport: Antalya Airport (AYT). One of Turkey’s busiest, AYT serves both domestic and international flights. In this article we look at the airport’s layout, its terminals and how it connects to the city.
Antalya Airport — Turkey’s Holiday Gateway
With its high passenger capacity, AYT ranks among the busiest airports in Europe and has two main terminals:
- Terminal 1 (Domestic): Serves flights within Turkey.
- Terminal 2 (International): Serves international flights; the great majority of scheduled and charter services operate from here.
The Airport’s Location
Antalya Airport sits about 13 km from the city centre, to the southeast of Lara. It is roughly 35 km from Belek, 45 km from Kemer, 65 km from Side, 130 km from Alanya and about 185 km from Kaş.
Other Airports Near the Region
There is no second civil airport belonging to Antalya province. However, two more airports lie near the region: Dalaman Airport (DLM), about 240 km from Antalya and a possible choice for western destinations such as Kaş; and Isparta Süleyman Demirel Airport (ISE), open to domestic flights and about 130 km from Antalya. For most international visitors, though, AYT remains the natural gateway.
Getting from the Airport
The most popular way to reach the city and the surrounding destinations from AYT is a private transfer; the fare is fixed at booking, the driver meets you with a name sign, and you are taken to the door. The AntRay (T1 tram line) connects to the city centre, though with large luggage that option can be awkward.
