What Is the Sea Like in Sorgun, Antalya?

Sorgun is a holiday belt in Antalya’s Manavgat district, attached to Side, and it sits on one of the clearest, calmest stretches of the Mediterranean. The short answer: Sorgun’s sea is clean, warm and mostly still — which makes it a favourite for families and anyone after a quiet beach holiday.

Features of the Sorgun Sea

  • Water: Clear and warm, reaching a high temperature through the summer months.
  • Seabed: A mix of fine sand and small pebbles, with a shallow, easy entry.
  • Waves: Mostly gentle, thanks to sheltered coves along the shore.
  • Cleanliness: Well-kept beaches that meet Blue-Flag standards.

Beaches and Facilities in Sorgun

Most of the large resort hotels in Sorgun have their own private beaches, with sun loungers, water sports and beach bars. There are also public stretches of shoreline in the area, so both hotel guests and day visitors have options. The pine woodland that gives the area its name (sorgun) runs right down towards parts of the coast, adding shade and a distinctive setting.

How to Get to Sorgun

Antalya Airport lies about 65 km from Sorgun, and in normal conditions the drive takes 60-80 minutes; the route runs east along the D-400 through the Serik, Belek and Side junctions. There is no direct public-transport link — you would have to change at the bus terminal and again at Manavgat, which is awkward with luggage. The most comfortable option is a private transfer: with Duru VIP Transfer the fare is fixed at booking and does not change en route, the driver meets you at the terminal exit with a name sign, your flight is tracked, and you are taken straight to the hotel door.
